Japan-Australia Quasi-Zenith Satellite System (QZSS) Half Day Workshops in Sydney and Melbourne in February 2018

Workshops are being held to showcase applications of the Quasi-Zenith Satellite System (QZSS) positioning service in Sydney on 6 February 2018 and in Melbourne on 8 February 2018 under the Memorandum of Co-operation between the Ministry of the Economy Trade and Industry (METI Japan) and the Department of Industry, Innovation and Science (DIIS).

The workshops' purpose is to:

  1. Share technical information about QZSS technology and its applications.
  2. Identify the potential applications in a variety of industrial areas between Japan and Australia relating to QZSS such as autonomous driving, maritime utilisation and autonomous agriculture, etc.
  3. Discuss a formal framework for ongoing cooperative partnerships on QZSS and associated technologies and applications between Japan and Australia in both the public and private sectors.
