Mark Watt is Managing Director of CTG Consulting, a Queensland based firm that (since 2010) operates as a wholly owned company within the Business Aspect Group. With more than 32 years of industry experience he has provided spatial information and associated ICT consulting services for the past 18 years to corporate, government and small business clients throughout Australia.
Mark has been actively supporting the spatial information industry since 1996 helping to transform and consolidate the small business industry representation that has since evolved into SIBA. He was Chairperson of the SIBA Regional Management Group (Qld) for 4 years until 2006. During this time he was commissioned by ANZLIC to instigate the Spatial Information Action Agenda and helped facilitate the spatial information industry restructuring to establish a national ASIBA organisation. Mark was also instrumental in securing the supplementary bid for CRCSI (Round 1) to get Queensland government engaged as a Principal Participant and secured Ergon Energy as the first CRCSI Core Partner from industry.
Mark holds qualifications as an Engineering Surveyor (QUT 1975) and a BSc degree in Environmental Science (GU 1983) complimented with post graduate studies in Computer Science (UQ 1986).
Mark is passionate about the role of spatial information in building a strong knowledge-based economy and its contribution to increasing productivity across most industry sectors.
