Australia China Exchange

By: Jessica Purbrick-Herbst |  Tags: , , ,

The Australia-China Young Scientists Exchange Program (YSEP) is a joint initiative funded by the Australian Department of Industry and Science (the Department) and the Chinese Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST). It is supported by the Commonwealth of Australia under the Australia-China Science and Research Fund (science and research knowledge exchange).

YSEP aims to provide a catalyst to bring together future science leaders from Australia and China to foster long term relationships to:

  • Increase early and mid-career Australian and Chinese researchers understanding of the cultures, particularly the science and research practices and systems, of the two countries
  • Develop the researchers’ leadership skills as future “science ambassadors” for Australia and China
  • Provide a catalyst for future Australia-China Research collaboration.

Host organisations will provide mentoring to their visitors and these visitors are encouraged to establish professional relationships of mutual benefit to future scientific collaboration between the two countries. Exchange activities will include visits to key policy and funding agencies.

Applications close at 5pm Friday 17 July 2015.
