This research will extend the aircraft path planning, data capture and flight assist concepts to optimise flight management and planning for large scale infrastructure aerial surveys.
The outcome will be a capability that can be applied to both highly automated manned and unmanned aircraft to reduce costs and optimise data capture.
Highlights
4.3.1 There has been significant progress towards the Commonwealth Milstones:
- Development of baseline for 3D flight planning has been completed
- Development of improved cornering strategies for automated guidance and control: 80% completed
- Addition of aircraft dynamic modelling to 3D flight planning: 25% completed
- Real-time Control – Information Extraction: 10% completed
