CRC for Spatial Information

A highlight of Program 2 for this quarter is the formal realisation of the 3D image concept through Projects 2.01 and 2.02. The 3D image concept provides a framework for rigorously integrating multi-source imagery and ranging data for the purposes of extracting meaningful spatial information products using automated feature extraction technologies. The CRCSI has the opportunity to be the first in the world to fully realise and document the 3D image concept as well as playing an active role in the development of a data format for the delivery of 3D image data. The latter could result in the creation of an internationally accepted industry
standard.
