Dept Climate Change & Energy Efficiency

The Department of Climate Change was established on 3 December 2007 as part of the Prime Minister and Cabinet Portfolio. Subsequently the new Department of Climate Change and Energy Efficiency was established.

The Department delivers the Australian Government’s climate change framework, based on the three pillars of

  • reducing Australia’s greenhouse gas emissions
  • adapting to the impacts of climate change we cannot avoid
  • helping to shape a global solution
