Over 800 delegates from 21 countries attended the three day event and exhibit
Substantial networking, with 40 exhibitors including Landgate, Curtin University, AAM, Amristar, ESRI, Fugro, Nearmap, NGIS, SKM, Spatial Vision, Whelans
signing of an MoU by Australia, Brazil, Canada and China regarding remote sensing for environmental protection. The MOU sets up “joint studies and scientific exchanges” between these countries to research the impacts of global climate change and land use with an emphasis on water, agriculture and natural resources. The Integrated Forest Carbon Initiative will be an early focus, and using the latest radar imagery
presentations of CRCSI projects (powerpoints available via project web pages)
election of Em Prof John Richards AM to the Presidency of the ISDE. Prof Richards presented the Digital Earth Vision for 2020 John is the former Deputy Vice Chancellor at ANU
New Zealand won the honour of hosting the 2012 ISDE Summit through a strong bid led by LINZ, the CRCSI “keystone member” in NZ
