Guest speaker bios

Dr Mohamed Abousalem, P.Eng., joined TECTERRA as the first Chief Executive Officer in May 2010, to lead the company through the launch of its activities in providing integrated resource management technology solutions to energy, forestry, agriculture, environment, and land management and development applications.

Prof Dr Peter Reinartz is head of the Photogrammetry and Image Analysis department, at the German Aerospace Centre (DLR), Remote Sensing Technology Institute (IMF). He also holds a professorship for geoinformatics and remote sensing at the University of Osnabrück, Department of Mathematics and Computer Science.

Renee Sieber has been a tenured associate professor for the past three years at McGill University in Canada and an assistant professor for six years prior at the same institution. She is jointly appointed between McGill’s department of geography and school of environmental science.
Additionally, she is affiliated with the school of computer science and conducts research on the application of information and communications technologies (ICTs) (primarily, computerized mapping and spatial databases as well as web services and e-commerce) to enhance participatory democracy.

Dr. Michael J. Wiskerchen is the Director of the California Space Grant Consortium (NASA sponsored K-12, undergraduate, and graduate educational program). Dr. Wiskerchen received his Ph.D. degree in Physics from the University of Denver.
