43pl Board

The Board draws directors from relevant jurisdictions and appoints a Chair independent of regional responsibilities. Mel Plumb provides the Company Secretary and legal observance roles, and Mike Ridout provides the executive officer role for the 43pl Board.

    Tony is the principal at Akuna Consulting, a firm he founded in Perth on leaving SKM Sydney, where he had worked for over 11 years.

    Tony has a deep understanding of the technical and organisational environment of the Spatial industry and is well connected through a strong global network. He was a founding director of the board and a long term member of the Spatial Industries Business Association.

  • Ed Garvin - ACT / NSW

    Ed Garvin is a Partner of Garvin Morgan & Co., Consulting Surveyors & Planners. He was Managing Director of OMNILINK Pty Limited, an information systems consulting company specialising in spatial information, to become Executive Chairman.  He holds tertiary qualifications in Surveying and Urban Studies, an MBA and he is a Registered Surveyor in NSW and ACT.

    Simon founded e-Spatial in 1998 to focus on the integration of location into business operations and workflows. Using his background as a Surveyor and Photogrammetric Engineer and 25 years experience in digital spatial data, Simon now concentrates on emerging technologies, data quality and maintenance processes. Simon is a member of the NZ Institute of Surveyors admission panel for the GIS, Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing disciplines.

He has over 40 years of experience in the spatial information industry from field surveyor to senior management positions in government and private enterprise. This includes a stint as a Quality Management consultant and, since 1996, management of business associations in the industry.

  • Jim Curnow - SA / NT

    Jim is the Managing Director and owner of Alexander Symonds, based in Adelaide. His period with the company spans nearly 40 years and he has held prestigious positions within many surveying industry bodies in this time. His services to industry were recognised through the "Spatial Professional of the Year" awarded to him at the 2010 Asia-Pacific Excellence Awards.

  • Rob Rowell - Vic / Tas

    Rob is the managing director and owner of Insight GIS. He has over 25 years experience in the spatial industry, with the last 20 spent owning and managing Insight GIS. Rob has held a number of positions within the Tasmanian IT / SI industry. He has a Bachelor of Surveying (UTas) and is a licensed surveyor. Rob is also a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD). He remains a member of TASICT and is also a member of the Surveying and Spatial Sciences Institute.
